Ripple Effect - Exhibition 2022

Ripple Effect featured a collection oil paintings focused on the optical illusions created when water is influenced by particular elements of nature, creating a ripple effect. The showcase was hosted by Landing Contemporary Art and featured at the Cedar House Gallery in Savannah, GA.

A natural mirror, water both reflects and distorts the surrounding landscapes, creating transient moments full of tension and potential. I perceive the reflected image as its own environment and in each moment, new scenery is introduced. Light plays a key role in the interaction between landscape and water, so it is often a focal point in my work

Welcome Home - B.F.A. Exhibition 2019

Welcome Home is a solo-exhibition featuring the artwork of Maggie Roof. The collection will be on view at The Downstairs Gallery from May 24th- 26th. The opening reception will be held on Friday, May 24th from 6 to 9 pm. This event is free and open to the public. The Downstairs Gallery is located on 19 W. Gordon Street, Savannah GA.

The work featured in Welcome Home focuses on the optical effects of water influenced by particular elements of nature. In a landscape, water acts as a mirror reflecting the surrounding environment. Yet this image is distorted through the natural movement of the water. The reflected image could be seen as its own environment, a new scenery that is being introduced through this effect. Inspired by her hometown of Savannah, Roof aims to convey these elements corresponding with one another harmoniously.
